Meghauli district centre, Telauli chowk, is about 18 kilometres (or one hour by bus) south-west of Narayanghat, the largest town in Chitwan, and the commercial centre. Nearby is the smaller administrative centre of Bharatpur. Telauli is connected directly to Kathmandu by bus, journey time about eight hours, most of it through exhilarating and dramatic river gorge scenery. In the monsoon season (July through to mid-September) this journey can be, at best, difficult and uncomfortable, and at worst, because of landslides and roads washed away, downright dangerous, taking up to twenty-four or more hours! The local people take all of this in their stride!
From Telauli chowk it is a very pleasant ten-minute walk through the thin forest to the Clinic.
