The Beavers joined with Beavers from all across Avon to take part in an activity day at Bristol Zoo. Our 5 Beavers had a great day taking part in a craft competition, the Zoo Olympics and an Animal Encounter. We saw all the animals, they were very lively! We met the Lima's close up, saw the bats and came face to face with the lions. The Beavers favourite enclosures were the Twilight Zone, Bug world and Lewis really enjoyed Butterfly World!
We began the day in the Monkey zone, and some of them were still asleep... We moved onto the Penguin and Seal world and went underwater in the sea tunnel. For our Craft workshop we decorated Love Beetles with lots of different materials. We had our Lunch opposite the Gorilla Island and listed to the Gorilla keepers tell us about how the Gorillas grow up and get looked after. Some of the young Gorillas were very naughty.
We explored Bug World, the Aquarium and then went to our Animal Encounter. We met Guinea Pigs and all sorts of bugs - they were very creepy! We visited the gift shop, then tried standing on one leg like the Flamingoes and then saw the lions.
We finished the day with some camp fire songs about animals and a trip to the play area.
We really enjoyed our day at the Zoo, the best bit was seeing the snakes! Thank you to everyone who organised the day.
