The 90th Beaver Colony joined in at the district sleepover last weekend and what fun we had!
Six of our Beavers attended and arrived with their kit bags at 26th Northcote Scout HQ ready for an evening of exciting activities. These included putting up tents, badge making, creating the ‘Big Picture Scene’ and scoring points in the bean bag throwing game. Then it was time for hot chocolate, cookies and camp fire songs. Chris read a bedtime story that had all the Beavers enthralled and hanging on his every word! Finally it was time for lights out and time to bed down in their sleeping bags and tents.
We were up very bright and very early (!) on Saturday morning for some exercises in the fresh air and breakfast. The leaders were super efficient at packing up the tents and then it was time for more activities. These included making Eskimo masks and animal bookmarks, a parachute game and obstacle course and soap carving and some cooking – delicious open sandwiches.
We had time for some more singing and general capering about until it was time to go home. Theo, one of our Beavers was asked how he would describe the event - ‘I thought the sleepover was absolutely brilliant!’
